strike out slavery

Chris played in an epic 49 hour baseball game a few weekends ago! It was a long weekend, but they broke another world record. Most importantly, they raised $49,000 for Mercy Project!

Chris batted...
caught...
batted some more...
and batted again...
He played almost all the field positions (except pitcher)!

Scout hung out with me at the ballpark. :)

He didn't even mind the windy weather! (He looks like a little white lion!)

They played a few hours on, few hours off. This was Chris' 'bed' for those 49 hours.

They actually ended up playing 49 hours and 20 seconds.

So proud of him and all the players that played! So grateful for people who are willing to sweat, be exhausted, be sore, play baseball a ridiculously long time, etc to change a child slave's life in Ghana!

what we've been up to

Just trying to catch up from the past week or so...

I found this sweet face smiling at me before work last week. I had about 20 minutes to finish getting ready including now giving him a bath! Apparently he found some red clay (that I didn't even know we had!) in the the backyard!

Aggie Athletics has a rewards program and you get scans with each sporting event you go to. I finally got my scan card this year and have assumed my new identity...
I've had my name spelled maaany different ways, but this is a first!

Last Wednesday we went and saw Cirque Du Soleil. It was INCREDIBLE!

One of my co-workers had a baby about a month ago so I took them dinner last week.
I found a fun use for my new washi tape (that I found at pick your plum!). Love love!

Chris plays the bass guitar at church about once a month. I just love watching him lead/worship. Love this man. :)

Speaking of Chris...
He's playing in a 49 hour Guinness World Record baseball game this weekend! It kicks off tonight at 5pm and goes until Sunday at 6pm. If you've been following a while, you'll remember he played 24hrs of flag football last year and 50 hours of kickball the year before.
The game benefits Mercy Project and ending child slavery in Ghana.
I'm off work all weekend, so I'm looking forward to hanging out at the ball park!

another world record

Chris made the news again last week. And he set another Guiness World Record.

He played flag football for 24 hours last Friday-Saturday. He was BEAT and looked like a BEET by the end of it! But it was for a great cause, and Mercy Project raised $31,000 to help end child slavery in Ghana!!! Their goal was $20,000, so that number is AMAZING!

You can check out his world record from last year.

Here's the football they all signed.
Over halfway point!Chris was on the blue team.

world record and ol' army cycling

Well, Chris survived his 50 hour kickball game two weekends ago. He now holds the Guiness World Record for the longest kickball game. That accomplishment also earned us a trip to the ER when he got home last Sunday night! He got home and had mentioned his foot was bothering him and then showed me the massive knot of the top of it. He agreeded that we should go get an xray. It ended up just being a really bad bruise, and got some crutches for his strained hip flexor. (Chris did mention something about wanting to trade his broken body in for a new one!!)

The two teams were named after boys that were or are in the process of being released from slavery.

Here's the kickball all the players signed.

Chris rode the MS150 this past weekend along with 13,000 other people! In case you aren't familiar with MS150, it's a 2-day bike ride from Houston to Austin to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. He rode with an A&M team called Ol' Army Cycling. Chris rode it like a champ!! I couldn't find the dock for Chris' camera, but when I do..I'll post those pictures. I'll leave you with this one.

Softball season is almost over! Only 3 more home games for Chris to announce. You can listen to him announce the line-up at the Aggies vs. Longhorns game here.

This weekend I'm in East Texas..my best friend, Alyssa's wedding shower is tomorrow and then me and my sisters have a photoshoot with the amazing Alex Maldonado. You can check out his gorgeous pictures at his website.
