our weekend in oklahoma

We went to Oklahoma this weekend! It's about a 6 1/2 hour drive for us, so we met my parents in Dallas and drove the rest of the way together.

Here's our road trip food bag!
#caloriesdontcountontheroad

Friday night we got in with enough time to go eat and play cards in the hotel lobby.

Then Saturday was GAME DAY! A&M vs. OU.

It was forecasted that it would be in the 60's on Saturday. Except there was 10-20mph winds. With the windchill, it was not in the 60's!! It was COLD! It wouldn't have been bad if we had dressed for cold weather, but I dressed for high 60 degree weather!
So I was wrapped up in this blanket pretty much the whole day.

my parents :)

Because it was so cold, we didn't take very many pictures for fear of our hands freezing! #dramatic
The tailgate we went to had 2 cooked hogs.

And A&M loss....so no pictures the rest of Saturday.

Chris on the way home Sunday. We laid out our couch cushions this time because I worked Thursday night and slept on the way Friday morning.

Even though it was a loss for the Aggies, we had a fun weekend!
I'll be back tomorrow to share a first that we experienced while we were there....

inside kyle field

Yesterday we had lunch with some Aggie friends from Tyler. They asked if Chris had connections to get into Kyle Field because their son LOOVES the Aggies, Kyle Field, etc. Chris just shot a quick text and arranged to get a private tour of Kyle Field. Uhh, AWESOME?!

So we headed over to check it out. Brady (their son) was SOO excited.

First we walked down by the field. The first game is in two weeks and it's televised, so they've got the grass looking good! it's weird how much smaller it looks without the 80,000 people in the stands!

so excited to touch the "Kyle Field grass" with his toes!

then we went up the elevator to the press box and you could see soo much from the 9th floor!

ahhhhh, i am ready for some football! but i do hope it cools off outside soooooon.

press box view. my husband rocks.

I was super impressed that Chris was able to arrange this in a matter of minutes. He knows people! This was my first time to see Kyle Field from the press box. I think I did a good job of not acting toooo excited, but I'm pretty sure I was just as excited as Brady was!

football season is finally back!

I love college football!

Living in College Station has mostly contributed to that. I love the spirit of game day. I also love sharing that experience with my family. My parents, middle sister and her boyfriend came into town last weekend for the home opener vs. SFA. (my parents' alma mater!) They smoked SFA (as expected) 48-7.

Since Becca lives in College Station now, she also got to experience her first A&M football game.
